The Cleansing Diet

If you are considering doing a cleansing diet then I would recommend the following, of which I have personal experience. Ideally this should be done over a 7 to 14 day period.

  1. Adjust diet to include as many fruits and salads, including raw vegetables, as possible, particularly dark green leaves, legumes, seeds and nuts such as almonds and walnuts. Fruit is also good but do not eat too much due to the sugar content. Fruit is best eaten in the morning and at the beginning of the meal. Seed, nut and olive oils (extra virgin) are good as salad dressings etc. If possible always use organic produce but when this is not available, thoroughly wash and remove or peel skins of any non-organic fruits or vegetables as appropriate. Cut out all processed foods and anything with wheat or rye flour (whole or processed); dairy; meat or fish; salt; starchy foods such as potatoes or rice should also be stopped as should pasta. All food should be well chewed before swallowing-this helps the digestive processes. Something I often do with salads for example is to grind seeds before sprinkling on a salad to help digestion. I often eat humous with salads. Obviously you can use herbs, spices, garlic, ginger, etc., and other condiments. For salad dressings use balsamic vinegar or preferably lemon juice. It is very important that you drink plenty of still water. At least 2litres per day, more depending on your weight and filtered if possible. Green drinks ideally should be taken as part of your intake and information on these can be found on the website under supergreen drinks. Do not drink tea, coffee, alcohol, or sweet/carbonated beverages such as coke. Freshly prepared fruit/vegetable juices are excellent. Supplement with essential fatty acids daily (omega 3, 6 and 9) I suggest Udo’s Oil see below.
